Exercise 4

Study Guide

Direction:  Read the study manual aloud.

Agreeing politely during work discussions is an important communication skill. It helps build team cohesion, encourages participation, and ensures everyone feels valued. Start by listening carefully to others’ ideas before responding. Use phrases such as “I agree with you,” “I’m with you,” or “That’s a good point” to show support. You can also back up someone else’s idea by briefly explaining why you agree.

Using concise, positive language prevents the discussion from becoming long or negative. Non-verbal cues, like nodding or smiling, reinforce your agreement. Being on the same page with colleagues promotes clarity and prevents misunderstandings.

Expressing agreement does not mean you cannot add your own suggestions; you can politely contribute while supporting others. Practicing this skill regularly will make team discussions more productive, collaborative, and pleasant for everyone.
